Elizabeth Pyle, began observing the world around her with each frequent family move as the oldest of five children, growing up with an military officer father and an adventurous stay at home mother. As an adult she studied design at University in Northern California and traveled extensively in the United States, UK, France, Greece and Spain surveying each destinations’ landscape, design and culinary influences. After living a fast-paced big city life in both New York City and San Francisco, she embraced small town living after relocating to North Carolina with her family. She founded a successful small artisan baking operation, which sold its last cookie when her twins were in elementary school. When the economy recovered, she then returned to work as a corporate interior designer at a firm offering flexible hours. Ms. Pyle writes about design, travel, and the challenges of staying put despite her constant wanderlust.
