Elizabeth Pyle began observing the world around her with each frequent family move as the oldest of five children, growing up with a military officer father and an adventurous stay at home mother. Ms. Pyle studied design at the University in Northern California and traveled extensively in the United States, England, Scotland, France, Greece, and Spain. After living a fast-paced big city life in both New York City and San Francisco, she now embraces small-town living in North Carolina with her family and works as a corporate interior designer. She has worked as counter help at a bagel shop in New York, an assistant at a floral shop in San Francisco, and founded a successful small artisan baking operation in North Carolina. Ms. Pyle writes about the challenges of staying put despite her constant wanderlust.
